Looking for a fast, lightweight shoe for your interval training, tempo days, or even a race? Then the Saucony Endorphin Speed 5 is worth considering. This fifth generation of the popular Speed series is not only lightning fast but also surprisingly accessible.

Who is this shoe for?

The Endorphin Speed 5 is an excellent choice for runners who want to work on speed, intervals, or races in addition to their endurance training. It's one of the most versatile shoes for speed work: lightweight, responsive, and more durable than many carbon alternatives.

Lightweight, responsive and energetic

The Speed 5 is constructed with Saucony's patented PWRRUN PB cushioning material, PEBA, which is ultralight and highly responsive. Combined with a full-length nylon plate, this provides significant energy return with every stride. This cushioning midsole is combined with the renowned SpeedRoll geometry, which naturally propels you forward as you run, effortlessly accelerating your speed.

Renewed upper and improved fit

The engineered mesh upper has been completely redesigned and is immediately noticeable thanks to its Hexagon Mesh structure. This material offers increased breathability and gives the shoe a faster look. The Speed 5 also features a 3D heel counter for a better fit and heel support. A tip is to lace the shoe with the marathon/speed skate loop for extra security while running.

Subtle changes with big impact

Compared to the Speed 4, the Speed 5's cushioning is slightly firmer and more direct. This makes the shoe feel more responsive without sacrificing comfort. The redesigned upper reduces weight and provides improved ventilation. The narrower heel cup also contributes to a reduced risk of chafing or irritation while running.
