Which running shoes are right for me?

At RunX we apply our running analysis to provide running shoes for Men, Women and children that are perfect for you. If you are planning to take up running, it is essential to make sure that it is smooth and enjoyable, without causing injuries. The first essential step in this is to select the right shoes. In our running store, RunX, we are always ready to assist you in finding the perfect running shoes. Although all shoes in our stores are of high quality, it is all about which shoe fits you best, both for running and walking. That is why we tailor each shoe specifically to your situation.

We achieve this by means of a comprehensive RunX running analysis. Your physical resilience is central here, with the essential question: how much can your body physically handle? Our recommendation focuses not only on your feet and legs, but also includes a thorough study of your entire body. In addition, we delve into your goals and personal story. By combining this information with our expertise, we are able to determine which running shoes suit you best.

Our approach to finding the right running shoe focuses on resilience. The amount your body can tolerate is influenced by several factors, including your running experience, goals and physical condition. During the running analysis, we study, among other things:

1. Running history

What is your experience with running and how fit are you physically? What specific training methods do you use and how often do you train per week? Do you mainly run on hard or soft surfaces? In short, your unique story is essential for us to get a complete picture for selecting running shoes.

2. Target

Choosing which running shoes to wear depends on your running goals and background. Are you aiming to complete a 5K, or are you aiming to finish a marathon? Perhaps your goal is less specific, such as improving your overall fitness or working on your health. These goals and your personal running experience play a crucial role in finding the right running shoes.

3. Body

We gather information about your body by starting with a foot scan of your uncovered feet. This way we can precisely analyze the pressure points and the pressure distribution under your feet. After the foot scan we use a (high-speed) camera to capture video images, with which we can show in detail your walking style and the load on your (lower) legs, including ankles.

Aspects we evaluate during an analysis to determine which running shoes are right for you:

• A) We are investigating the bare feet and assess the pressure points, pressure distribution, width, length and height of the instep. In addition, we ask about any foot problems to get a full understanding of the ideal shoes.

•B) You body weight and running style are crucial when assessing the load on the running shoes. At an average speed, the impact load can be two to three times your body weight. A proper balance between body weight and cushioning in the shoe is essential, as both insufficient and excessive cushioning can cause problems. We also take into account your running pace, personal preference and the type of surface you usually run on.

• C) Je injury history plays a role in our recommendations. We consider any injuries or abnormalities that may affect the load capacity.

• D) We assess the position of your lower legs, including ankle joint, knees and the angle between hip, knee and ankle (Q-angle).

• E) Je total body posture is carefully observed. We pay attention to your posture while running on our indoor test tracks or treadmill.

• F) Your running technique is of great importance. Good technique improves the resilience while running. In our RunX-running stores we also assess your running technique and give simple tips for improvement. In addition, we can advise on local running groups, athletics clubs and personal trainers who can guide you in improving your technique and fitness.
